Teen Bible Study, Today: The teen Bible study, which is normally held the first Sabbath of the month, will be held today instead at 1:45.

Fall Festival Gift Baskets: The fall Holy Day season is fast approaching, and we would like to remember those who are unable to attend the Feast with a nice gift basket from the congregation. If you would like to donate an item, make a monetary donation or help deliver a basket, please see Amy Stephens.

Cincinnati East Volleyball Meeting Today: There will be an informational meeting about the Cincinnati East volleyball league today between services at 1:15 in the warehouse. The meeting will last no longer than 15 minutes. There is a sign-up list on the back table for those interested playing or helping this year. Please sign up by Sept. 26. If you have any questions, please contact Duane Phelps. The volleyball league dates will be Oct. 25, Nov. 8 and 22, Dec. 6 and 20, Jan. 10, 24 and 31, Feb. 21 and March 7.

Interest in Songleading: Any young men who have an interest in learning to lead songs for church services, please sign the list on the information table.

Feast of Trumpets, Sept. 19: Feast of Trumpets services will be held at the Holiday Inn at the Dayton Mall, 31 Prestige Plaza Dr., Dayton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. A Holy Day offering will be collected in the morning.
Directions: Take I-75 North to Rt. 725 exit (#44, first exit after I-675), turn right going east to first traffic light, turn right on Prestige Plaza Drive.

Atonement, Sept. 28: Services on the Day of Atonement will be held at the home office building at 1:30 p.m. A Holy Day offering will be collected.

Challenger II Program Announcement: Young Adults: Accept the challenge for greater spiritual growth and personal leadership! Applications for the Challenger II Rock Climbing Program, for young adults age 18-30+, are now available at the Challenger II Web site (http://members.ucg.org/challenger). If you are serious about spiritual growth and willing to be challenged both physically and spiritually, you will be rewarded with meaningful friendships and fun, significant lessons and personal growth. The program will be held Dec. 27, 2009, to Jan. 3, 2010, on Mt. Lemmon, outside Tucson, Arizona. Check the Web site for more information or contact the director, James Capo, at james_capo@ucg.org.

Spring Biblical Education Tour to Turkey: Applications are now being taken for the spring Biblical Education Tour, “The Footsteps of Paul,” in the modern land of Turkey.
The goal of next spring’s program, to take place March 17-31, 2010, is to provide on-location opportunities for instruction of the New Testament including Acts, the Pauline Epistles and Revelation. The timing of the tour will allow members from all regions of the world to share this educational experience plus Passover, Night to Be Observed and the First Day of Unleavened Bread.
From the various departure points, the brethren will gather in Istanbul to begin the tour. Here we will visit some of history’s great markers of this crossroads city and explore the archeological museum, viewing such significant finds as the entrance stone from Hezekiah’s tunnel in Jerusalem.
From there, the journey will follow the path of first-century travel with important sites like Tarsus and Antioch, where Paul’s ministry began. The tour will highlight Cappadocia, Konya (Iconium), Pamphylia, the hot springs of Hierapolis and Laodicea, and then over to the coast with Ephesus and Pergamon, the crowning jewels of Turkey’s excavations.

Hymnals for Feast of Tabernacles: Members are being asked to take their own personal hymnals to the Feast.

Young Adult Activity at Feast in Steamboat Springs: Young Adults (singles and married, high school grads through 30s)—come and enjoy a great Rocky Mountain evening Tuesday, Oct. 6, beginning with a horse-drawn wagon ride along the banks of the Yampa River pulled by massive Percheron draft horses. Wild animals and eagles are sometimes seen.
Afterwards, we’ll return to the WindWalker log cabin along the river for a delicious meal. Live music entertainment will be provided by recording artist Kenny Knapp. We’ll have a dance floor at the cabin, so wear your dancing shoes for a great time or just listen to the music.
Registration deadline is Sept. 25, 2009. The registration forms are on the information table. If you’re interested, please pick up a registration form and submit it.

Volunteers Needed at Snowshoe Feast Site: There is a need for volunteers to serve in the auditorium at Snowshoe, West Virginia. Volunteers are needed to serve on the ushering crew, auditorium security and the mother’s room. There may be a few other miscellaneous duties also. Volunteers Needed at Jekyll Island Feast Site: The Festival site in Jekyll Island, Georgia, is in need of volunteers to help in ushering, mother’s room and special services during this upcoming Feast of Tabernacles. Volunteers Needed at Panama City Beach Feast Site: Every Feast site has special needs, and we hope you will volunteer wherever you are attending, but we have some extra opportunities at one of the most popular sites—Panama City Beach. We currently need a large number of volunteers to serve in the auditorium and stage area, the mother’s room, parking and special services.

Jamaica Feast Announcement from the Caribbean Office: An activity letter to brethren planning to attend the Jamaican Feast site in Ocho Rios has been posted on the Caribbean Web site (www.ucgcaribbean.org). Please be sure to read this letter, since it contains important information that will help us plan more effectively for the Feast. Special note: We have contracted service with Jamaica Tours to arrange ground transfers from the airport. If you would like to take advantage of the special deal they are offering, please provide them with the necessary information as outlined in the letter. Thank you for your assistance.

Reasonable Precautions Regarding the H1N1 Flu: The news media and responsible public health professionals have asked all organizations to implement programs to minimize the dangers posed by the recently discovered H1N1 influenza virus. As responsible citizens and Christians, it is important that we do our part.
Therefore, we would like to enlist the help of the membership in establishing the following guidelines for local services and for the Feast of Tabernacles.
 Know the signs and symptoms of flu. Symptoms of flu include fever or chills and cough or sore throat. In addition, symptoms of flu can include runny nose, body aches, headache, tiredness, diarrhea or vomiting.
 Self-imposed quarantine is a biblical principle. If you are sick, stay home or at your place of residence for at least 24 hours after there is no longer a fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius) or signs of a fever (have chills, feel very warm, have a flushed appearance, or are sweating). This should be determined without the use of fever-reducing medications (any medicine that contains ibuprofen or acetaminophen).
 The flu often lasts for several days. If you become ill with the flu while at the Feast, you may want to consider returning home before the end of the Feast if that is possible.
 Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after coughing or sneezing. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective if soap and water are not available.
 Contact a health-care provider right away if you are having difficulty breathing or are getting worse.
 Please do not come to services or bring sick children to services to get anointed. You are encouraged to call the elders if you need to be anointed. If you would prefer to not have anyone come to you, you are welcome to request an anointed cloth.
 As responsible citizens, we should cooperate with public officials in any way possible to limit the spread of this disease.
