Fall Festival Gift Baskets: The fall Holy Day season is fast approaching, and we would like to remember those who are unable to attend the Feast with a nice gift basket from the congregation. If you would like to donate an item, make a monetary donation or help deliver a basket, please see Amy Stephens.

Volunteers for Processing Holy Day Offerings: The Feast of Tabernacles will be here in just seven weeks, and once again it’s time to ask for volunteers to help process the Holy Day offerings at the Feast of Tabernacles. Any individual who has experience and a desire to serve in this way, and who will be attending a site in the United States, please give the following information to Mr. Welty:

Address:
City/State/Zip:

Cincinnati East Volleyball: It is time again to start planning for the Cincinnati East Winter Volleyball League. There is a sign-up list on the back table for those interested in playing or helping this coming year. The location will be the same as last year and the fee will be dependent on number of teams playing. Please sign up by Sept. 26. If you have any questions, please contact Duane Phelps. The volleyball league dates will be: Oct. 25; Nov. 8 and 22; Dec. 6 and 20; Jan. 10, 24 and 31; Feb. 21; and March 7.

Cincinnati East Web Site: Those of you who are on our church e-mail list have been receiving weekly reminders from the home office on Fridays with church prayer requests from around the world and occasional routine announcements of change of time for services, etc. Since our new local church Web site is so easy to access and contains so many useful features, we will no longer be sending out the weekly prayer requests and routine announcements via a separate e-mail. This information will now be available on the new local church Web site. However, the entire international prayer request is available on the Member Web site. If you have any questions about this change, or how to access the Websites, feel free to ask Paul Wasilkoff in the A.M. congregation and Tom Disher in the P.M. congregation.

Fall Golf Outing: You are cordially invited to play in the Cincinnati North Fall Golf Outing taking place on Aug. 30, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at the Neumann Golf Course (7215 Bridgetown Rd., Cincinnati , OH 45248, 513-574-1320). The play will be a four-man scramble with prizes going to the winning teams. The price is $49 per golfer, which includes lunch.
Contact Nate Zimmerman for questions or to sign up. Deadline to sign up is Aug. 23. Checks can be made out to United Church of God – Cincinnati North.

Pre-Feast Sabbath School Lessons on Sept. 12 and 26: We plan to have two lessons before the Feast this year. We will have three classes—instead of four classes, as we did last year. The classes will be divided as follows:
Class 1 for children aged 4 and 5
Class 2 for children aged 6, 7, 8 and 9
Class 3 for children aged 10, 11 and 12
All classes will be held in the warehouse from 1:30 to 2 p.m.

Steamboat Springs Feast Fun Show: The Feast of Tabernacles is coming quickly! Once again this year we are planning a Feast Fun Show for your enjoyment. If you would like to share your talents through song, dance, poetry or a skit, please contact Jim Tuck by e-mail at Jim_Tuck@ucg.org or by phone at 925-634-1759 no later than Labor Day.
There will be a rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon and the show will be Wednesday night, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

Young Adult Activity at Feast in Steamboat Springs: Young Adults (singles and married, high school grads through 30s)—come and enjoy a great Rocky Mountain evening Tuesday, Oct. 6, beginning with a horse-drawn wagon ride along the banks of the Yampa River pulled by massive Percheron draft horses. Wild animals and eagles are sometimes seen.
Afterwards, we’ll return to the WindWalker log cabin along the river for a delicious meal. Live music entertainment will be provided by recording artist Kenny Knapp. We’ll have a dance floor at the cabin, so wear your dancing shoes for a great time or just listen to the music.
Registration deadline is Sept. 25, 2009. The registration forms are on the information table. If you’re interested, please pick up a registration form and submit it.

Midland, Ontario, Feast Choir: There is an urgent need for volunteers to sing in the Midland Festival Choir. Currently we do not have enough voices to sing each part that constitutes a complete choir. We really need the participation of those who are able to serve by singing in the Festival choir.
If you are interested in helping out in this important way, please contact the Festival choir director, Paul Wasilkoff, ASAP. Remember to give him: (a) your name and (b) the part you sing. His e-mail address is paul_wasilkoff@ucg.org. Since the Feast is only a few short weeks away, your response is needed no later than Aug. 21—sooner would be even better. He looks forward to hearing from you soon.

Snowshoe Activities Sold Out: We are sorry to inform those of you going to Snowshoe that the Mountain Theater/Train option #2 as well as the Greenbriar Bunker Tour (mentioned last week) are now closed. Both of these preregistration activities are filled. We do, however, still have plenty of room for the golf scramble and the Mountain Theater/Train option #1.

Volunteers Needed at Snowshoe Feast Site: There is a need for volunteers to serve in the auditorium at Snowshoe, West Virginia. Volunteers are needed to serve on the ushering crew, auditorium security and the mother’s room. There may be a few other miscellaneous duties also. Volunteers should contact Ron Kelley at Ron_Kelley@ucg.org (please note spelling of “Kelley”) or call him at 336-936-9107.

Volunteers Needed at Jekyll Island Feast Site: The Festival site in Jekyll Island, Georgia, is in need of volunteers to help in ushering, mother’s room and special services during this upcoming Feast of Tabernacles. If you would like to serve in one of these areas, please sign up on the list at the information table or send the requested information to Bruce Gore directly. His address is bruce_gore@ucg.org. Thank you for serving God and His people!

Volunteers Needed at Panama City Beach Feast Site: Every Feast site has special needs, and we hope you will volunteer wherever you are attending, but we have some extra opportunities at one of the most popular sites—Panama City Beach. We currently need a large number of volunteers to serve in the auditorium and stage area, the mothers’ room, parking and special services.
If you would be willing to serve in any of those areas, please send Ken Martin your name and contact information and where you would like to serve. You can contact him by e-mail at ken_martin@ucg.org or by regular mail at Ken Martin/UCG, P.O. Box 3417, Macon, GA 31205. (We’d really appreciate receiving that information right away.)

Snowshoe, West Virginia: There is some additional information concerning the Snowshoe Feast site available on the Feast Web site at http://feast.ucg.org/snowshoe/. There is a copy of the material on the information table.

Festival Update: For the latest status of Feast sites around the world or to see what sites are still available for transfer, members can always go to http://feast.ucg.org.
